The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) is a cooperative association representing over 250 member brokerages and over 5000 Realtors®. When you choose our By Owner Plan, you need to decide if you want to involve these Realtors® in the sale of your home by offering a buyer's agent commission. Many, but not all, home buyers are represented by a Realtor® and if you want those Realtors® to show your property, you need to give them an incentive to do so. The amount of cooperation you receive from those Realtors® will depend, in part, on the amount of buyer's agent commission you offer. The rhinoagent that attends your home will be more than happy to discuss the buyers' agent commission with you, and suggest your best course of action.

If, on the other hand, you only want to market your home to unrepresented buyer's that are shopping on MLS.ca and REALTOR.ca, then simply don't offer a buyer's agent commission. It is possible to succeed with this strategy, however, keep in mind those Realtors® represent a lot of buyers and depending on your time frame it may be in your best interests to have them working for you.
